Assiette révolutionnaire d'une manufacture de Nevers en faïence née vers 1789-92. Dans un cartouche, écusson à la façon de la noblesse, le Coeur Sacré ailé est transpercé par la flèche d'un chasseur, moquerie des révolutionnaires français face à la religion officielle. Elle a été cousue par des agrafes, restauration d'usage au XIX° siècle. Diamètre 23 cm.

For our English-speaking friends: This rare revolutionary plate has been made in the famous Nevers manufacture around 1789 -1792 French revolution period. The hand painting pattern shows a noble shield with the winged Sacred Heart pierced by a hunter arrow, humorous decor for the French revolutionaries opposite to the official religion. Unfortunately not in good condition 4 chips on the face and it was sewed during the 19th Century. 9" diameter.
